In my glass kiln, layers of special glass merge and transform through heat into fused collages. Flat, thick, and unpredictable. Each piece typically undergoes multiple firings, building depth and complexity with each cycle. Heat-resistant markers allow for drawn interventions directly on the glass surface, adding linear elements that survive the kiln's intensity. Sometimes the molten glass takes shape over porcelain moulds, emerging curved and sculptural.
The process involves careful layering of materials and deliberate control over how they fuse, directing the interplay of heat, gravity, and time. Through calculated firing schedules and hand placed compositions, each work emerges as a unique glass object where technical precision meets material unpredictability.
