Unfolding

As part of the Art Garden 2003 festival at the Amsterdam Hortus Botanicus, the premiere of "Unfolding", a project by composer Paul Goodman, takes place on 4 October.

"Unfolding" is a piece for two artists, a dancer and computer music, consisting of two parts of about 20 minutes each: "Babel" for computer music and two drawing artists, and "Unfolding" for computer music and dance.
The first part takes place in the dark. In the background, ever-changing drawings appear, made on the spot by Dave Bobroske and Jan Giliam. In the second part, dancer Fleur Hagemans performs the piece "Unfolding" in a choreography by Gerard Mosterd created specially for this evening.
The premise is that music, image and dance together form a whole that is both abstract and image-generating.
