O Altar

Miguel de Carvalho, Rik Lina, Seixas Peixoto and Jan Giliam gathered in the woods near Figueira da Foz for a session of drawing, painting and an unforgettable Portuguese picnic. At a certain moment, the picnic table itself became a working surface: a spontaneous collage of found natural forms, combined with images from discarded magazines discovered in the undergrowth. This transformation of the table into a charged, symbolic surface gave rise to the title O Altar.
